The afternoon was occupied with a tour of the USS Midway, now permanently moored on the Embarcadero in San Diego. With several acres of deck space and tens of kilometres of under deck passageways, this enormous aircraft carrier saw active service in the Vietnam and Korean wars. It now houses a suite of retired military aircraft, and serves as a very interesting museum.
