Tubing

As soon as the tube hill opened through, the fun went into hyperdrive. Armed with a plastic pan underneath an inflated car tube, the kids rode a travelator more than 250m to the top of a 30 degree incline. Launching from the top was an exhilarating experience, reaching speeds of nearly 50km/hr in the middle of the descent. The ride is completely safe, as even in the event of a tip over, the only option is to continue sliding down the icy slope to the bottom.

Little Indi showed her true colours on this, traipsing up to the top of the slope and launching off with no assistance whatsoever. She really is a fearless little beast, and already has a taste for adrenalin.

A highlight of the gondola trip back down to the lake was sighting fresh bear tracks halfway up the mountain. Made since the last snowfall, they showed at least one black bear foraging for food on the steep slopes.
